It has been a while in the making… but yip, you read right! Last week we hosted our first Hermanus based candle making workshop. The first of many – we hope!
Hosted at our home run studio, it is a smaller and more intimate setting (1-4pax max), which allows for a more personalised approach and a lot more chatter! We loosely follow the structure of our OG workshops, but here in studio we have room to deep dive into your questions around recreational candle making.
We now offer 3 versions of our candle making workshop… 1. Small Business Candle Making (This is our OG candle making workshop which is hosted in Cape Town.) 2. Recreational Candle Making (This is an adapted version of our OG workshop, and is hosted in Hermanus.) 3. Our Online Candle Making Course which launched mid 2020, it was never designed to replace the physical workshops, (even though it was perfect timing with us being confined to our homes), but rather to support our international audience, so if you are reading this and longing to learn from the comfort of your own home – this is for you. Read more about our online course here, I would recommend that you purchase our candle making kit to ensure you have all the equipment you need at home to get started… Shop here.
All the #SMLcandlemaking workshops cover the basics of candle making with a fundamental focus on hand poured vegan soy wax scented massage candles. Each with their own specific focus. Get in touch if you would like to know which workshop would be the best fit for you…
Okay, back to last weeks workshop. Covid has stirred up so much for many people, but one thing I know for sure is that we are all craving connection, we have this longing to connect with each-other and the world around us. Our recreational candle making workshop is the perfect activity based workshop to take your mind off things and connecting with friends less risk involved. Our recreational candle making workshop is 2 hours long and includes light snacks and refreshments.
Our recreational candle making workshop (hosted in Hermanus) covers the following:
– An introduction to candle making.
– Candle making equipment and care thereof.
– Blending essential oils.
– Step by step how to make a candle.
By joining any of our 3 workshops, you automatically have exclusive access to our Candle Makers Hangout facebook community where we share tips, resources and feedback… Being #SMLcandlemaking alumni has its perks as we hope to bring you discount codes at suppliers, free samples of newly launched SML products and more…
A big thank you to Rynette and Wanda for joining us on a sunny day in our beautiful coastal town, it was such a pleasure to share my love for candle making with you both. I look forward to seeing your creations, and recycling projects!
