HOUSE VREDE. Kitchen before & after

Here at Studio Melissa Louise we are passionate about what we do and this is made even more possible when working with dream clients. Mr and Mrs Vrede were just that, not only did they trust us whole heartedly but they accommodated every small hiccup (there are always a few durning the construction process) and they handled it all with grace. The finished product says it all…

If you would like me to walk you through the space head on over to Instagram, I have saved the full project on our highlights reel – start to finish.

The Brief: Creating an open plan kitchen that offers room for entertainment and family time. My client was drawn to neutrals and they were heart-set on high gloss cabinetry with contrasting accents/accessories. We changed the foot print of the home slightly by converting a small study/4th bedroom into a walk in scullery and pantry, this created space and allowed us to introduce features like the wine cooler and additional smart storage in the main kitchen.

BEFORE
AFTER

The clients long term plan is to replace the counters with natural marble, for now we have installed a fuax marble formica to suit the budget available at the time of renovation. This is a smart way to stretch your budget.

One of my favourite features of this space is the blended floor finish, we went with a herringbone layout on the timber tile and finished that off by zig zagging the existing floor tile – it is a beautiful feature as you walk down the passage.

MORE BEFORE

We created an archway to the new pantry where the fridge is seen here.

MORE AFTER

Tea and coffee bar.
