Made In Brasil – Before and After

A collaborative project I have recently completed is a luxurious boutique and beauty salon in Green Point. Made in Brasil a new brand that launched in Cape Town on the 18th of July 2013, see the launch photographs here. They specialise in swimwear, lingerie, gym wear and shoes. Apart from the unique apparel and accessories on offer, this high end Brazilian boutique also has a section dedicated to all your beauty treatment needs from hot stone massages, waxes and hair treatments to name but a few. Our design brief for the interior was simply to bring Brasil to Cape Town. We achieved this by introducing vibrant colours, natural textures and muralled walls.

Below I have put together a series of before, during and after photographs which document the design process. *prepare yourself for a visual overload, editing out which photos to use was tough there were just too many*

“The jacaranda seedpods are collected by local residents, then cleaned and painted in our workshop in Mc Gregor, before being strung into exciting chandeliers” – African Queen Studio

These jacaranda seedpod chandeliers are significant in this project due to South America being the origin of this sub tropical tree. This was something that our client related too, it gave her a sense of home.

Opening up the passage was important to allow natural light to flow throughout the space. The mural of the copacabana palms and balneario beach line is iconic and creates perspective/depth at the end of the passage furthering your view to the horizon.
