PROJECT: House Vrede

BACKGROUND: The House Vrede project was a highlight of 2019 for us. Our brief was to create an open-plan kitchen that offers room for entertainment and family time.
Drawn to neutrals, my clients were heart-set on high gloss cabinetry with contrasting accents/accessories, this theme was carried through to the statement backsplash. We altered the footprint of the home slightly by converting a small study/4th bedroom into a walk-in scullery and pantry, this created space and allowed us to introduce features like the wine cooler and additional smart storage in the main kitchen.
One of my favorite features of this space is the blended floor finish, we went with a herringbone layout on the timber tile and finished that off by zig-zagging the existing floor tile – it is a beautiful feature as you walk down the passage and ensures that the two spaces are linked.
